Distribution: Tanzania, Zambia, Angola, Zimbabwe

Timber Qualities: The grain is generally straight but can be interlocked, moderately fine and is pink to red-brown with purple streaks. Has a moderate blunting effect on tools and finishes well. Needs to be dried carefully to prevent distortion and cracking. Is stable once dried.

Uses: This timber has a large variety of uses from small decorative pieces to larger pieces of furniture and architectural woodwork.
